Before co-creating the infamous animated sitcom South Park, Trey Parker mounted an independent feature film with the help of some fellow students (including South Park co-conspirator Matt Stone) at the University of Colorado Boulder. Originally advertised as being "in the tradition of Friday the 13th Part 2 and Oklahoma!," Cannibal! The Musical tells the story of gold prospector-slash-cannibal, Alfred Packer, the last man standing following an ill-fated trip to the Colorado Territory in 1874. Now the feature film has been adapted for the stage with all of the singing, dancing, ninjas and flesh-eating audiences have come to love. Cannibal! The Musical -- LIVE!!! is performed at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday (November 4 through 19) at Crestwood ArtSpace (Watson and Sappington roads, Crestwood), with 10:30 p.m. encore shows on Saturday nights. Tickets are $10 to $15. Call 314-662-0097 or visit www.Cannibal-STL.com for more information.
Fridays, Saturdays. Starts: Nov. 4. Continues through Nov. 19, 2011
