During this Memorial Day weekend's
Fair U City at Heman Park (7200 Olive Boulevard; University City), you will have the ability to see yourself in a whole new way. Not only can you loosen up and welcome in summer with friends and neighbors, but you can also reinvent your image. Perhaps while whirling around on the carnival rides, you'll become the conqueror of Momo the Monster or the grand spatula of the Scrambler! You might even be able to tame the wild ponies on the merry-go-round. Then, while playing carnival games, prove that you're the Wild West’s most rootin' tootin' water-gun slinger this side of the Mississippi (congrats in advance). Of course, after earning all of these new titles, you'll need to tuck into some delish eats -- Fair U City offers pizza, empanadas, hot dogs, ice cream and more -- and maybe take a look at the car show (on Sunday only) or grab a listen to one of the music acts on the schedule, which features everyone from Kim Massie to Nikko Smith, plus Fanfare and the St. Lunatics. The festival runs from 5 to 9 p.m. on Saturday and 1 to 9 p.m. on Sunday and Monday (May 26 through 28), and tickets cost $1.25 apiece (cost for rides will vary).
