Normal or Paranormal? You Make the Call!

When an entire town is haunted, as Alton, Illinois, is, you know the Halloween celebrations there have to be pretty spooky. Something as innocent as an annual Halloween Parade can turn out to be a real fright fest in a place like that — especially if actual ghosts, goblins and ghouls show up with a couple of floats. Head over to the intersection of Washington Avenue and Broadway in the eerie little river town to see if you can spot the real deal. Of course, people pretending to be from beyond the grave will participate in the parade, too, as will bands and other local groups, making your job as amateur ghost hunter a lot more difficult. And we're guessing there will be more than one "Thriller" homage to distract you as well. This popular parade has about 80 units — that's a lot of potential creepiness! — and it begins at 7 p.m.; call 618-462-7527 to learn more.
