Onward Crispin Glover

You may now think freely

Crispin Hellion Glover respects you and trusts your intelligence in a manner that few directors would ever contemplate. His last appearance at the Webster Film Series was thrilling: an epic performance of his Big Slide Show (part literary event, part theatrical tour de force) and a screening of his first film, What Is It? Glover returns with the second installment of his trilogy, It Is Fine! EVERYTHING IS FINE!, which stars screenwriter Steven C. Stewart, now deceased. Stewart's script is based on his own life as a man with severe cerebral palsy and normal sexual urges that are frustrated by his physical limitations. It Is Fine! EVERYTHING IS FINE! (a still of which is pictured) reveals the humanity of handicapped people -- they can be foul, lecherous, rude and horrible, just like the rest of us. What Is It? screens at 8 p.m. Friday, August 22; It Is Fine! EVERYTHING IS FINE! screens at 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday (August 23 and 24) at the Moore Auditorium (470 East Lockwood Avenue, Webster Groves; 314-968-7487 or www.webster.edu/filmseries). Glover presents the Big Slide Show and answers questions from the audience all three nights. Tickets are $20, and it's money well spent.
