The artists included in
Ideas of Order, the new exhibition at the Center of Creative Arts (524 Trinity Avenue, University City; 314-725-6555 or
www.cocastl.org), approximate the illusion of order in their work without ever being orderly. Whether it's the serial prints of Gina Alvarez, which all share similar elements without being identical, or Peter Pranschke's strange little assemblages of stuff made and found, the art on display constantly flirts with the appearance of order and yet never yields a predictable end. Ideas of Order opens with a free public reception from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, September 28. The work remains on display through Sunday, November 18, and the Millstone Gallery is open daily.
