The arrival of the month of June means it's time to show your pride for the LGBT community and celebrate the continued advances made nationally in the area of LGBT rights -- and that's what PrideFest is for. The theme for this year's fest is "Unity, Diversity, History," and PrideFest headquarters is once again at Soldiers Memorial (14th and Chestnut streets; 314-772-8888 or www.pridestl.org) from noon to 9:30 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Sunday (June 28 and 29). Highlights include a variety of sporting activities in Athletes Village, live music and an actual commitment ceremony for couples at 3 p.m. Saturday in city hall's rotunda. There are appearances by celebrities including Alex Newell (Glee) and legendary drag queen Lady Bunny, while the annual parade at 11 a.m. Sunday will turn Market Street into a full-on celebration. Admission to PrideFest is free, but bring money for food and beverages.
