At first glance, Adam Huber's high-quality commercials seem fairly standard. A cheesy ad for soap. A perfume commercial with a soft-whispering narrator.
Then, a naked dude appears. Or a man in a dress vomits on some passersby in the park.
Parody Patrol is the latest project of the St. Louis filmmaker, who is producing fake commercials closely inspired by real ones. And they're pretty friggin' awesome.
"There's just not enough parody commercials out there," Huber tells Daily RFT. "So I thought I might as well make a YouTube channel dedicated specifically to that."

Here's a real original Dove soap "Camera Shy" commercial.
And here's Huber's take, "Dove Camera Shy Parody: Dude":
Huber, a 28-year-old St. Louis native who grew up in Kirkwood, has been working on the concept for about a year and officially launched the channel this summer. He plans to post videos every two weeks and already has a handful up on the Parody Patrol YouTube page. He's currently promoting the project on Facebook and Twitter, but is aiming to build a website dedicated to Parody Patrol in the near future.

"We're slowly building our audience," Huber says. "Right now, it's just a fun little thing we're putting out there."
Eventually, he says, he hopes he can make it a full-time gig.
And it's a lot more fun than some of the film work he typically does.
"I have an opportunity to let my brain go wild," Huber says. "Any crazy idea that pops into my head, I can run with it.... There are no limits as long as I'm having a good time."
He films the parody commercials in St. Louis, and they feature local actors.
Huber says it's important to him that the local film scene remain vibrant.
"St. Louis still has a lot to offer as far as commercial production and filmmaking in general," he says. "A lot of us in town want to work here.... We're trying to do everything we can to keep...people coming back to St. Louis."
Below are some more samples from his YouTube page (alongside the original commercials that inspired the parodies).
