It's time to bond

Ms. Day has always had an affinity for Peru — many alpacas make their home there, so the country must be awesome! But, of course, the Peruvian delights extend far beyond fluffy animals. This South American country has a culture rich with art, dance, music and more, and Day intends to learn all about these traditions over the next few days. Won't you join her? She will begin by attending an opening reception for Peru in St. Louis from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, September 25, at Gallery Visio on the University of Missouri-St. Louis campus (1 University Drive at Natural Bridge Road; 314-516-7922 or This art show features ceramic works by Polo Ramirez and paintings by Willy Fernández (that's his Mamacha pictured), both Peruvian artists, and it remains on view Monday through Thursday through Thursday, October 16. Then, she will return to the campus' Touhill Performing Arts Center on Tuesday, September 30, for a free concert of live Andean music and folk dancing beginning at 10 a.m. These events are organized in part by Arts & Treasures from Latin America, and there's more information about them and other goings-on at
