Our police and firefighters spend their days serving us, the community at large. And on their night off, a bunch of them will serve each other — stiff jabs and bodyblows, mostly. The 24th edition of Guns 'N' Hoses features seventeen boxing matches pitting the police against the firemen in three 90-second rounds. The firefighters won eleven of seventeen bouts last year, and if you think the police team doesn't want to avenge that loss, you're crazy. Tickets are $7.50 to $27.50, and all proceeds go to BackStoppers, the organization that aids the families of those killed in the line of duty.
