Similar, Yet Different

As the title implies, A Group of Similar Beings, the new exhibition at the Regional Arts Commision (6128 Delmar Boulevard; 314-863-5811 or www.art-stl.com), explores how artists who share a medium can diverge wildly in technique, approach and subject matter. Louis Kelly, Carol Shapiro, Barb Steps and Linda Yust are all photographers, and they do share some similarities -- flora appears in all four artists' work, and travel is important to all of them -- yet their prints reflect a distinct individuality. A Group of Similar Beings opens with a free public reception from from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, April 29. The work remains on display through Sunday, June 5, and the gallery is open daily.
