Wouldn't it be great fun to spend Christmas in Ireland? Most if not all of us who harbor a special fondness for the Emerald Isle and its culture would love nothing more, but prosaic financial constraints tend to prevail over fanciful wishes — pleasant as the latter are to entertain. Our town's strong Irish American base, though, makes it possible for you to enjoy a little yuletide Gaelic interlude (minus the travel expenses, passports and currency conversion) at the St. Louis Irish Arts Holiday Concert, which starts at 7 p.m. this evening at the Sheldon Concert Hall (3648 Washington Boulevard; 314-533-9900 or www.thesheldon.org). There'll be plenty of Irish seasonal music on tap as well as, of course, the super-challenging precision step dancing of the young Irish Arts dancers. Tickets are $10 to $15.
