Small Course, Big Goals

Ms. Day comes from a long line of super-competitive folks. Some of her family members cry over poor bowling outings; others throw tantrums about Wiffle ball. Day, however, likes to put all of her energy into a stellar game of mini golf. She gets eye-level with the greens, examining the breaks and roughs, and she shoots ever-so carefully so as not to waste a stroke. And so she imagines that she will reign victorious in the Jobs and Employment Support Services' Miniature Golf Tournament and Hole-in-One Contest at Tower Tee (6727 Heege Road, Affton). If you wish to challenge her — and help raise money for JESS' important mission (it's a nonprofit job-placement service for developmentally disabled individuals) — head over to the course at 2 p.m. Mini golf costs $10 per person (from 2 to 4 p.m.); hole-in-one shots cost $10 per (from 3 to 7 p.m.), and you have a chance to win $10,000 if you sink the putt!
