Ah, St. Patrick's Day — a time of green beer, the wearing of the shamrocks, parades and philharmonic concerts. OK, so maybe you haven't invoked all of these traditions in the past, but there's no time like 2009 to start enjoying a more well-rounded holiday. The
Dublin Philharmonic Orchestra comes to St. Louis on its first-ever U.S. tour as part of the Saint Louis Cathedral Concerts series. During the performance expect to hear lots of Celtic tunes played on traditional Irish instruments like the
Uilleann pipe — just right for the season — along with Brahms'
Symphony No. 2. The concert begins at 8 p.m. and is held at the Cathedral Basilica of St. Louis (4431 Lindell Boulevard). Tickets, which cost $20 to $40, can be ordered by calling 314-533-7662 or by visiting
