Star-Struck

But hungry

In Ms. Day's line of work, she is introduced to all manner of celebrities, and, in fact, she meets so many famous people that she doesn't even get nervous around them anymore. Well, most of the time. Every now and then someone comes along who is so handsome or special that she just can't help getting a bit flushed and flustered. Alas, she's worried that's what will happen if the Crack Team's mascot, Mr. Happy Crack, is her waiter at the Saint Louis Crisis Nursery's Celebrity Waitress & Waiters' Night at Monarch (7401 Manchester Road, Maplewood; www.monarchrestaurant.com). This fundraiser for a spectacular organization has local celebs — such as Sir Crack, KTVI-TV (Channel 2)'s Kevin Steincross, KMOV-TV (Channel 4)'s Larry Conners, pro Mixed Martial Arts fighter Tracy Taylor and St. Louis Police Chief Joe Mokwa — serving charitable diners food off Monarch's regular menu and collecting large donations by way of tips. (Ms. Day just might sign over her whole bank account to one special waiter.) Anyway, the night runs from 5:30 to 10 p.m., and reservations are encouraged; call 314-644-3995 to save your spot today.
