St. Louis' Craft Alliance is committed to educating about the art of contemporary craft in multiple media. One of its larger projects is the Fashion Lab, a series of events designed to showcase work by fashion designers and artists who incorporate fashion into their work. Sitting right in the sweet spot of that Venn diagram is Sinead Lawlor, an Irish designer who combines digital printing and traditional techniques such as flock printing in her work. You can see Lawlor's vibrant, colorful designs up close and in person at a free opening reception from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, August 2, at Craft Alliance Grand Center (501 North Grand Boulevard; 314-534-7528 or www.craftalliance.org), which also doubles as a trunk show. There's an additional trunk show from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, August 3. Her bold patterns remain on display through Sunday, August 25, and the gallery is open Wednesday through Sunday. Admission is free.
Wednesdays-Sundays. Starts: Aug. 2. Continues through Aug. 25, 2013
