The Power of Three

Gettin' sporty

You like to think you lead an active life. You can walk around the block without getting winded, you enjoy backyard sports, and you've recently lost a few inches around your waist — good for you! But, even so, you must realize that you're no triathlete. Why run, swim and cycle if you don't have to, right? We feel you. And so does the Metro Homeless Center-Shalom House. This shelter has organized a fundraiser dubbed Tri-BALL-athon, an event described as "a lazy person's triathlon." From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Langenberg Field in Forest Park, ten-person teams will attempt to bocce, spike and kickball their way to victory. Space is limited, so register now ($25 per person), and if the spots are all spoken for, take part in the lazy person's triathlon's laziest activity — spectating. Learn more about the cause and the benefit and sign up for the fun at www.metrohomelesscenter.org.
