William Goldman adapted his 1973 novel The Princess Bride into the cinematic classic of the same title in 1987. Star Cary Elwes revisits the making of the film in his recent book, As You Wish: Inconceivable Tales from the Making of The Princess Bride, which is filled with cast interviews, photographs and the actor's recollections of those heady days. Tonight at 6 p.m. Left Bank Books and the Webster Film Series jointly present An Evening with Cary Elwes: As You Wish, at Moore Auditorium on Webster University's campus (470 East Lockwood Avenue; www.left-bank.com). The event includes a screening of the movie and post-film interview with Elwes by Cinema St. Louis' executive director Cliff Froehlich. Admission is $29, and includes a copy of the book, which Elwes will sign.
