All of the regular Night & Day readers know that Ms. Day has quite a sordid, long-term love affair going with cheese. But in case you're unaware, it's the dairy of her dreams, the gustatory goodness of the gods, the lifeblood...well, you get the idea. So you can imagine her joy when she saw that St. Louis' own Hautly Cheese Company was helping to host the Art & Sole art auction at the Studios (2500 Ohio Avenue). This Spirit of St. Louis Marathon & Family Fitness Weekend auction event includes food from Sidney Street Café and, hopefully, Hautly cheese. And Ms. Day is sure that nearly all of the snacks will be hers, since the other attendees are probably going to be participating in the marathon in a couple of weekends, and are therefore unable to break their diets to enjoy said cheese, oh glorious cheese. Yep, while Day is dining, the marathoners will be browsing the 30 works created by regional artists on the theme of "Running Through St. Louis," placing bids on these paintings and local-celebrity-made shoes-turned-art, tapping their feet to two-man country band Spur, and generally having a grand time. The party runs from 6:30 to 10 p.m., and tickets cost $25 to $30.
