Atnas, daughter of Santa, was once a child of privilege spoiled by her birthright. But something drove her to change her attitude from that of entitled brat to devoted servant. In a way, Atnas is continuing the family business, but the gifts she brings people aren't the sort that come in fancy wrapping paper and ribbons. Instead, Atnas takes away the things you don't want, whether they are the accumulated objects of a lifetime or a collection of bad habits. Riding her flying vacuum cleaner through the night, her mission is not dictated by who is naughty and who is nice, but rather, who asks for her help in cleaning up their life. Atnas, An Experimental Video Story
written and directed by artist Kelsey LaPoint with help from filmmaker and choreographer Rebecca Rivas, stars fellow artist Lyndsey Scott as Atnas. The video screens at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday through Thursday (December 2 to 4) at the Regional Arts Commission (6128 Delmar Boulevard; www.newmusiccircle.org
). Tickets are $7 to $15.
