St. Louis is not just a city that welcomes newcomers; it is a city that gives new Americans the opportunity to thrive in their adopted home. By being our neighbors and bringing renewed life to darkened corners of town, these immigrants enrich the fabric of our city. Their contributions are evident every day of the year, but on one particular weekend, we have the opportunity to honor both the new Americans and the International Institute — the amazing organization that ensures a smooth and successful transition for so many people. Join the celebration at the Festival of Nations Saturday and Sunday (August 29 and 30) in Tower Grove Park (Grand Boulevard and Arsenal Street). This festival is much-beloved for its performances, crafts, food and educational opportunities. And this year, there is even more to enjoy. Learn about coffee and tea rituals in the "Welcome to My Home" series, allow your skin to be a canvas for the beautiful art of henna, witness the craftsmanship of renowned folk artists, hear the Drums of Uzbekistan — and so much more.
