Thrill-Seekers Wanted

Despite the infamous scandals that have shadowed Michael Jackson’s career, it’s not the hooded babies dangled over ledges, drawn-out trials or other controversies for which he is an icon. It’s the music he made in the ´80s that should be his legacy. Specifically, the epic zombies ´n’ Vincent Price-laden video for “Thriller.” But are happy memories for those better days really enough? Are we over it? A couple hundred Philippine prisoners choreographing a stunning re-creation of the “Thriller” dance and becoming a YouTube sensation would imply that we are not. If that same viral video has you itchin’ to fire up your zombie claws and head-jerk, you’re exactly who the organizers of “Thrill the World” are searching for. From 3 to 6 p.m. at the Mid-County YMCA (1900 Urban Drive), join many other “Thriller” fans in a world-wide attempt to set the Guinness World Record for the largest number of people simultaneously performing the unique dance. You have been secretly preparing for this moment all your life -- this is your destiny. Admission is free, but organizers ask that you pre-register by calling 314-962-9450.
