To Give Is Always Better

You'll get a lot by attending StudioSTL's Young Author Party, held from 6 to 9 p.m. You'll have the opportunity to meet and visit with other community-minded people who support the literary contributions that StudioSTL and its dedicated volunteers make in the lives of children in the St. Louis area. You'll get a chance to be inspired by works written by these young people — their pieces range from poetry to personal narratives, and some students will present their writing this evening — and you will even be able to watch a film project put together by freshmen at Eskridge High School in Wellston. Plus, there will be food and drink at the event — it is called a party after all! But more important than what you will receive tonight is the support that you will be giving to the young people in our community who are brave enough to share a little bit of their lives with you. These writers and filmmakers will have a chance to see what kind of an impact their works can make on the world, empowering their voices and giving them strength. The Young Author Party is held at the Centene Center for Arts & Education (3547 Olive Street), and admission is free but donations are much appreciated.
