Tonight in Lucha Libre: A Peat Wollaeger Extravaganza on Cherokee Street

Ever seen a giant wooden lucha libre mask stuck on a wall somewhere in St. Louis (or should we say San Luis?) and wondered where it came from? Qué suerte, this weekend is your chance to find out.

Renowned stencil artist Peat Wollaeger is back with the latest installment of his Luchador Collab-o-Mask series. This time around, in honor of the weekend's Ocho de Mayo festivities, Wollaeger handed out blank wooden Mexican wrestler masks to eighteen artists from Cherokee Street. They decorated them and he filled in the eyes and mouths. It's an idea that's as simple as it is cool.
