Classical music is usually equated with grand concert halls and epic scope and size. But that's the symphonic or philharmonic end of the spectrum. Chamber music takes place on more modest, intimate terms, with far fewer musicians, yet it's no less spellbinding for it. Chamber Project Saint Louis has carved a strong niche for itself in this music-savvy community; it is now into its sixth season of bringing the pleasures of chamber music to the metro St. Louis area within a variety of intriguing, nonstandard venues. Tonight the ensemble presents Connect, a themed concert in celebration of forces in synthesis to create something more powerful than themselves. The program starts at 8 p.m. at The Chapel (6238 Alexander Drive; 314-401-0450 or www.chamberprojectstl.org). Tickets are $5 to $12.50.
