Trials and Tribble-ations

Fascinating: The original Star Trek crew explores the strange new world of the stage. Magic Smoking Monkey Theatre, the genius company that's already conquered the Lord of the Rings and Star Wars franchises, embodies some of Captain James T. Kirk and crew's most famous adventures in one hour. All of your original series dreams come true in Star Trek: Live! Pity Kirk as he falls in love and is torn from it time and time again, and watch Spock dryly lord his intelligence (and ears) over everyone one last time. Who knows, you may even fistfight with a tribble after the show. Tickets are $10 to $15, and a program from the show nets a buy-one-get-one-free ticket deal at the St. Louis Science Center for Star Trek: The Exhibition. The magic -- ahem, science -- happens at the Regional Arts Commission (6128 Delmar Boulevard; University City) at 8 p.m. and 10:30 p.m on Friday and Saturday (May 4 to 19). Fridays, Saturdays. Starts: May 4. Continues through May 19, 2012
