Tuning In

Musicals remind us how thrilling life can be when somebody randomly breaks into song. Boastfully belted in the shower and in the car (or anyplace else you believe to be soundproof), movie soundtracks are beloved and fun to sing. But perhaps you've grown tired of your own renditions. So go (greased lightning, go, greased lightning!) to the Roberts Orpheum Theater (416 North Ninth Street; 314-588-0388 or www.robertsorpheum.com) at 8 p.m. on Friday or Saturday (March 28 or 29). That's where the Gateway Men's Chorus offers much more than your usual concert repertoire. During Show Tunes, the group sings numbers from the classics (Casablanca, Show Boat, Fame, Grease) along with the animated (Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, The Lion King, Sleeping Beauty) and other favorites (The Wizard of Oz, The Rocky Horror Picture Show). Buy a ticket for $20 to $50 through Ticketmaster (314-241-1888 or www.ticketmaster.com), and for more information call 314-621-7286 or visit www.gatewaymenschorus.org.
