Watching Sausage Get Cast

Felix Artifex is a man coming very quickly to the end of his rope. His impending, landscape-altering stage production, Mistakes Were Made (a French Revolution spectacle), is causing him no small amount of birth pangs. He's got a cast of 50 and guillotine to wrangle, he has movie stars to soothe so they'll do the show, he has writers to placate because the movie stars require ego-stroking changes to the script, he has directors with delusions of grandeur and the specters of several not-so-well received productions looming on his tail -- America just wasn't ready for Suzanne Sommers as Medea, it turns out. But Felix is bound and determined to work his phone to death to get this hit to Broadway if it kills him. And it might. Midnight Company admits that Mistakes Were Made at 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday and at 7 and 9 p.m. Saturday (August 18 through September 3) at the Kranzberg Arts Center (501 North Grand Boulevard; 314-487-5305 or Tickets are $15 to $20.
Thursdays-Saturdays. Starts: Aug. 18. Continues through Sept. 3, 2011
