Update, March 13: The mall says all the kiosks have been claimed.

Artists, store owners, entrepreneurs — you'll want to listen up.

You know those carts and kiosks in the center of the mall, where savvy sales people try to sell you yet another cellphone case or test run their fancy flat iron on your hair? Well, West County Mall is moving up in the world with brand new kiosks and carts  — meaningmore than 30 used ones are now up for grabs.

And they're not trying to unload them on Craigslist. They're offering them completely free to the public.

The Des Peres shopping mall is reinvesting in fixtures due to several stores opening or expanding. Some of the used carts and kiosks are available now, while the rest will be up for grabs the week of April 3. All are available on a first-come, first-serve basis to whoever wants one.

Sean Phillips, marketing director for West County Center, says that the carts and kiosks also come in different configurations and sizes, and that a single unit will fit into a standard pickup truck.

“This is an exciting time for West County Center and we’re happy to offer these fixtures to any business, school, entrepreneur or other entity which will put them to good use,” Phillips says.
