If you love Missouri Botanical Garden (and who in St. Louis doesn't?), you'll want to listen up.
St. Louis' favorite floral haven is in the running for national recognition as part of a USA Today 10 Best contest. The Missouri Botanical Garden is one of twenty gardens in the running to be named the best botanical garden in the country — and you can vote once per day until noon on March 27 to get it to the finish line.
Botanical gardens from major metropolitan areas such as Chicago, Atlanta, Dallas and Washington D.C. are on the list, as well as some not-so-obvious locales such as Boothbay, Maine, and Wayne, Pa. As of press time, MoBot sits in fifth place.
"Favorite springtime attractions, botanical gardens offer travelers the chance to explore the colorful flora of the world while learning about local and native plant varieties," the contest introduction reads. "The best botanical gardens in the nation, like these twenty nominated by our panel of experts, help to promote and conserve the plant diversity of our planet, all while showcasing their vast collections in stunning, visitor friendly ways."
The winner will be announced on Friday, March 31. To cast your vote, visit 10best.com.
