We love that Design Within Reach has moved into town (42 Maryland Plaza; 314-361-1701 or www.dwr.com), not only because we adore the stylish furniture (the fab geometric Nelson Marshmallow sofa and the beautiful illusion of the Noguchi table are our faves), but also because we fancy the fact that the design shop helps us support local artists which should always be in vogue anyway and be stylish at the same time. Craft and Design: Blurring the Line, a special in-store event happening from 5:30 to 8 p.m., pairs artistic wares from the Craft Alliance with DWR's sleek furnishings. And in addition to appreciating the eye candy of something like Ruth Hyndman's bright Hefty Bowls (pictured) perched on a designer table, you can also sip wines from Ste. Genevieve's Chaumette Vineyards & Winery while live jazz rounds out the fashionably free experience. Just don't drink too much: Even though the craft/design line is blurred at this event, you don't want it (or the art and furniture) to be obliterated by your inebriation.
