Hey, friend, how're you feeling about your civil liberties these days? What? No, ignore that strange clicking in the background; this conversation isn't being recorded. Of course, you'd be forgiven for worrying, given the perilous state of personal freedoms here and around the world. Want to spend an evening with people who understand the unwavering importance of America's founding documents? You can do just that at the American Civil Liberties Union of Eastern Missouri's 36th annual Bill of Rights Celebration, which takes place tonight at the Pageant (6161 Delmar Boulevard). The event's very special keynote speaker is Harry Belafonte, whose impressive acting-and-singing résumé is bested only by his amazing civil-rights work. Musical act A Taste of Motown joins Belafonte for an entertaining evening that benefits the ACLU-EM. The talk and performance begin at 7:30 p.m., and tickets are $31 (the seated dinner, which costs $126 and includes admission to the show, begins at 5:30 p.m.). Visit www.thepageant.com or call 314-726-6161 for more information.
