Zombies Named Rob (and Beth and Susie and Joe…)

We know your kind: You sit up in your house watching movies like Night of the Living Dead, and perhaps you let out a little chuckle here, a gasp there, and when it's all said and done, you flip off the TV and think to yourself, "Self, it's a good thing those unrelenting zombies aren't at my door." And then you calmly and casually tuck yourself in and have sweet, shambling dreams. Well, it's about time you woke up. Zombies are everywhere. We encountered them in Chicago this spring — during the day no less — and they've planned a time to show themselves in St. Louis this weekend. To see exactly what we're up against, or to explore your own undead side, head to the Delmar Loop (meet behind Starbucks at Leland Avenue and Delmar Boulevard in University City) at 6 p.m. for the Loop Zombie Walk (zombieflashmob.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2759). The event is a fundraiser for the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America, so whether you're there to take notes or to shuffle along, you can (and should) make a donation to the cause. Oh, and if you are planning to help zombify this stretch of Delmar, at least have the decency to don your ratty zombie clothes, so the rest of us can see you coming.
