One of the Best Maurice Sendak Interviews of All Time

Posted By on Tue, May 8, 2012 at 9:57 AM

Beloved author and costume designer Maurice Sendak passed away last night at the age of 83. Noted TV buffoon Stephen Colbert conducted a two part interview with Sendak this past January that revealed a man who was still whip-smart, irascible and willing to laugh at humanity -- his own, and that of other people as well. That ain't a bad epitaph for anyone. Part one is below; part two is after the jump. They're both longish in terms of internet time, but very worth watching.
