Aerial Dancers Returning to St. Louis to Perform on Facade of Skyscraper

Venture down to Grand Center this weekend, and you might find yourself mouthing the lyrics to a certain 1986 pop tune. For good reason. What is happening this Saturday along the side of the 22-story Continental Life Building defies gravity and boggles the mind.

The aerial dance troupe Bandaloop is back in St. Louis to perform at Grand Center's Dancing in the Street Festival. And if this year's performance (Saturday at 4 p.m. and 6:30) is anything like the group's 2007 show here, it will be a sight to behold.

Bandaloop calls itself a "pioneer in vertical dance," but it's more than that. It's rappelling, meets bungee jumping meets the magical choreography of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. In short, it's hard to explain. Although perhaps the following videos may help.
