Actress and comedian Ellie Kemper, best-known for her roles as Erin Hannon on The Office and the title character on Netflix's Unbreakable Kimmy
, did an interview on the Daily Show on Monday night in which she denounced any misconceptions the public might have about the city of St. Louis being a bunker. It's not.

The topic is broached almost immediately during the interview, when host Trevor Noah mentions bunkers in a reference to the plot of Kemper's Netflix series. Here's the exchange:

Trevor Noah: "I am such a fan of you and the show, but so much so that it is freaky talking to you, because you have the same enthusiasm in person that your character has. So I feel like you were once in a bunker underground."

Ellie Kemper: "You're kind. I feel like that's another — yes. Maybe I'm not acting really on the show. Except I was, I was raised in St. Louis, which is not a bunker. I don't think."

So there you have it. St. Louis is not a bunker, I don't think. And that's coming from a real St. Louisan, no less an authority than 1999's Veiled Prophet Queen of Love and Beauty, which we gather is a title that mostly just means "old money."

Further in the interview Kemper goes on to explain that she pees when she laughs, often. It apparently happened a lot on the set of The Office and once while sitting on her Unbreakable co-star Tituss Burgess' lap. That doesn't have anything to do with St. Louis or bunkers or anything; it's just pretty funny. We covered the content promised in the headline two paragraphs ago; this is the bonus round.

In summation, the celebrities talked about us on the TV this week, and they agree that we don't live inside an underground bunker, which is nice. If you have VP money and can still afford Netflix after that price hike, you should know that season two of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt is on there now, and it's pretty funny.
