Metro doesn't call what they do "children's theater"; they call it theater aimed at "young people." However you label it, the Metro Theater Company production of Captain Lindbergh's Ocean Flight was one of last year's local theater highlights. And it's coming back to the Missouri History Museum this season. There's children's theater where the toddlers are up onstage -- which can be painful to watch unless you're blood kin. There's children's theater that casts adults in shows geared to kids -- which can be intriguing if the material is solid. Then there's the Metro Theater Company, whose innovative productions soar beyond the confines of conventional theater. If you want to see ingeniously staged theater that appeals to the child who resides in us all, don't miss the Metro.
