Best Stationery: Cheree Berry Paper

There simply is no substitute for the handwritten note. Many of us long for the days when correspondence was not heralded by a digitized "bing!" When greetings were not wearisome variations on "wut u doin txt me back thx." The stationery from Cheree Berry Paper is so singularly gorgeous that it could singlehandedly bring back letter writing. The delightful Ms. Berry, a brilliant designer who was once responsible for Kate Spade's wedding-stationery line, opened her Central West End studio in 2006. In that bright space, awash in natural light and festooned with whimsical wall art, Berry creates the stationery that has editors at Modern Bride, Real Simple and Martha Stewart Weddings in raptures. While Berry undoubtedly could have risen to the top of the New York design heap, she chose instead to move closer to her family (her parents are from Bonne Terre) and her alma mater (Washington University). Her stationery is available in great shops nationwide; here in the STL you can find it at Lusso, Vellum, Craft Alliance, Bloomin Buckets, Fresh Art and the Service Bureau.
