Avoid being basic and try these three local, seasonal drinks that have nothing to do with pumpkin spice. None of these drinks will set you back more than $4.50, and all are available with soy or almond milk, so even if you can't do dairy, you can get in on the action.
Brown Sugar Rosemary Latté

The name itself makes us feel cozy and warm. This unique drink is a beautiful balance of espresso, milk, brown sugar and a house-made simple syrup lightly infused with fresh sprigs of rosemary. The flavors are subtle and well-balanced: warm, earthy sweetness from the brown sugar, a delicate botanical note from the rosemary, and a velvety finish to round it off. With multiple locations across Saint Louis, Columbia and Kansas City there is no reason to miss out on this one. Available through the end of the year. Starting December 1 Kaldi's will add the Turkish Latté to its seasonal menu, which will feature flavors of cinnamon and cardamom.
Fall Spice Latté
Rise Coffee House, 4180 Manchester Avenue
If you have yet to visit Rise Coffee House, located in the heart of the Grove, you're doing coffee wrong. The space itself is as inviting and warm as the staff, and the Fall Spice Latté does not disappoint. The star here is a house-made simple syrup highlighting flavors of vanilla, orange peel and star anise. Get in soon to try this one, because starting December 1 it will be replaced with Rise's winter feature, a Cayenne Mocha. It's worth noting that if you need a warm-up, but aren't into fall flavors or caffeine, Rise is currently serving an exclusive Decaf Light Roast from Sump Coffee.
Cereal Killer Latté
The Mud House, 2101 Cherokee Street
The name is fitting, as this drink is like a warm mug of frothy, Cinnamon Toast Crunch. It is the sweetest of the three drinks featured. The usual latté ingredients are combined with brown sugar, a house-made simple syrup and a bit of maple syrup. It will be on the menu through the month of December, with the potential to stick around in early 2016 depending on popularity.
