Sushi House (17265 Chesterfield Airport Road; 636-778-3232) opened on August 9, offering sushi, Asian fusion cuisine and private karaoke in Chesterfield. The new concept comes from Hyeong and Myong Bae, who previously owned and operated Momoyama with their son and chef Jin Bae. Bae brings six years of sushi-making experience to developing the menu, which features bar food in addition to authentic Japanese and Korean dishes.

Chef Bae says this concept is a bit more outgoing than the family's last venture, featuring a big bar and plenty of TVs to catch the sporting event of your choice. The menu includes bento boxes, soba and udon noodles, teriyaki, bulgogi, fried rice and much more. A variety of sushi rolls includes two of Bae's favorites: the "Sea of Love" and "White Tiger."

Guests can enjoy their meal in the dining room, which seats 148, or rent a private karaoke room for a different experience complete with song options available in multiple languages and a colorful light show. Choose from four small rooms, which seat six each, or a larger room that can fit a dozen or more people.
