AgriMissouri Brings Your Holiday Back Home

For many, holiday shopping means camping out in front of a chain store for cheap electronics. Fact: You don't have to spend the night in the cold or waste half the day looking for a parking spot at the Galleria to give the gift of local food. You just have to read the Holiday Gift Guide from AgriMissouri.

The best part? You won't get maced over a flat-screen TV while you shop!

AgriMissouri connects Missouri residents with a variety of wares, including locally-sourced foods, wine, home décor and agritourism experiences from local farms via an online shopping cart.

Christine Tew of the Missouri Department of Agriculture explains, "The program was established more than 20 years ago and has seen outstanding growth in 2011...from about 350 members in January to more than 1,350 now."

AgriMissouri put together its holiday gift guide based on the personal favorites of Department of Agriculture team members. These include a a variety of local foods (Gut Check likes the look of the variety pack of pork chops), the "Ultimate Generous Gift Basket" featuring six Missouri wines and a private getaway at Dry Creek Cabin.

Already finished your holiday shopping? AgriMissouri provides information on local produce year-round.
