Alpha Brewing Co. opened its tap room downtown in 2013.

Four years after it first opened its doors on Washington Avenue downtown, Alpha Brewing Co. is preparing to move to a new, significantly larger location.

The homegrown brewer's new home, at 4310 Fyler Avenue, will boast a taproom, restaurant, and beer garden with seating for 300. A separate 10,000 square foot building will house the brewer's 15-barrel system production facility, Alpha said in a press release.

The building is just west of Morganford Road, in part of a quartet of warehouses and office space. The brewery hopes to open on site by mid-February.

The new facility will also boast food service, courtesy of Mandy Estrella, the chef behind Plantain Girl, which has been popping up at locations around the area. Her new concept at Alpha Brewing, ALPHA-TERIA, will be a fast-casual eatery "with a menu focused on authentic Latin fare and a few crowd favorites from past pop-up menus," the release said.

“We were looking for food that would be unique to the Morganford area and would complement the styles of beers our patrons love,” Alpha's head brewer, Derrick Langeneckert, said in a press release. “Mandy’s concept fit perfectly.”

The brewer said in the release that the move to Tower Grove will allow for fifteen times more beer production. The amount of seating is also a huge upgrade; the downtown original had room for just 50 guests.
