BlackFinn American Grille (1147 Saint Louis Galleria; 314-726-5300) at the Galleria has permanently closed. Its website was live Monday morning, but now it's simply a message confirming the closure. All social media accounts have apparently been deleted as well.

BlackFinn, a small, higher-end chain restaurant, opened at the Galleria in March 2012. There are also locations in Houston, Austin and Jacksonville.

We gave BlackFinn a mixed review -- "Yet even within the range of bar food, BlackFinn shows signs of sagging under the strain" -- but the restaurant was popular for corporate events and larger parties.

Emails and voicemails left for BlackFinn St. Louis and catering manager Charlie Gitto were not immediately returned. We'll update if we hear more.
