Mike McLaughlin's rookie restaurant the Blind Tiger at Sutton Place (7376 Manchester Road; 314-646-8822) will close this Friday, September 19, after just a year in business. When we reviewed the pizza, ribs and whiskey joint, we acknowledged that there was some work to be done, but the pizza is just delicious. It first opened in December 2013.

40 South News first reported the closure, and Sauce was able to confirm with McLaughlin. The Blind Tiger suffered a break-in this summer; the front door was ruined and money stolen from the cash register. Chef Jaxson Noon will reportedly return to McLaughlin's Crows' Nest (TK) down the street.

McLaughlin did not immediate respond to emails or phone calls; we'll update when we can reach him. Fingers crossed he'll be adding pizza to the menu at the Crow's Nest.
