With the Stanley Cup playoffs in full swing, sports bars get packed to the brim with hockey lovers and St. Louis Blues fanatics. Those who can't travel to the rink to see the action up-close can retreat to outposts named after former Blues defenseman Bobby Plager to catch the games. The third location of the Blues-themed bar-and-gril, Bobby's Place (1130 Washington Avenue), opened on March 11 in downtown St. Louis. It features a bar-side for party animals and a quieter lounge serving cocktails and more.
The two other locations of Bobby's Place are in Valley Park and St. Charles, but the new downtown location serves as the flagship. Patrons can catch the game on one of fifteen high-definition TVs. Meanwhile, the restaurant's "bombshells" -- the business' special name for its staff of female servers -- bring by drinks and plates from the hot food menu. House specialties include stuffed mushrooms and "Bobby's Melt," a sandwich made with two four-ounce beef patties topped with cheddar, swiss and thousand island.
Bobby's Place's downtown location is open Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 a.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. For more information, check out the Bobby's Place website and follow it on Facebook.
