Bobo Noodle House (278 North Skinker Boulevard) now offers delivery for lunch and dinner. Lunch delivery is available Monday through Friday, dinner Monday through Saturday. In general the delivery area is bounded by DeBaliviere Avenue to the east, Hanley Road to the west, Clayton Road to the south and Delmar Boulevard to the north. But owner Zoë Robinson tells me they have been delivering "as far outside of those boundaries as time will allow." There's a $2 delivery charge. I reviewed Bobo at the very beginning of the year ("Udon Know Bobo," January 1, 2009). I was especially taken with chef Ny Vongsaly's idiosyncratic take on the traditional beef noodle soup pho, which included red curry paste and butternut squash.
Maplewood wine shop Saint Louis Cellars (2640 South Big Bend Boulevard) has opened its new takeout café, wine bar and party venue, Saint Louis Cellars Food & Wine. The café is open 9 a.m.-7 p.m. Mon.-Sat. and features cooking from chef Greg Maggi, who has overseen the kitchens at the Zodiac, Pujols 5 Westport Grill and, most recently, Webster Groves' Robust.
Though Saint Louis Cellars Food & Wine is focused mainly on takeout cuisine, it does offer "The Table at Saint Louis Cellars Food & Wine." On Friday and Saturday evenings, groups of twelve may reserve the entire space and have Maggi prepare a multicourse meal, with wine pairings. For more info about the café, call 314-880-9000. Now open in the Delmar Loop is Ranoush, which is (to the best of my knowledge) the area's only Syrian restaurant. Ranoush takes over the space at 6501 Delmar Boulevard previously occupied by the Lebanese restaurant Saleem's. Ranoush is open 11 a.m.-midnight Tue.-Thu., 11 a.m.-1:30 a.m. Fri.-Sat. and 11 a.m.-11 p.m. Sun.
After months of rumors and speculation, Delmar Loop pizza restaurant — and presidential favorite — Pi has announced plans for a second location. George Mahe broke the news on St. Louis Magazine's Feast blog that Pi will open at the former Two Nice Guys/Trattoria Two space at 10935 Manchester Road in Kirkwood. Look for an opening in about three months.
