Bocci Bar Now Open in Clayton

Apr 5, 2011 at 3:00 pm
The Schmitz family has struck again. This time it's Frank Schmitz, owner of BARcelona.

(Not to be confused with Claus Schmitz of Mosaic or Ellen Schmitz of Mosaic Bistro Market.)

Frank Schmitz's new venture is an Italian restaurant called Bocci Bar. It's located at 16 North Central Avenue in Clayton, on the same block as both Barcelona and Mosaic Bistro Market.

The menu is considerable: four different crostini as well as a selection of antipasti (mussels, a "Bocci-sized meatball"); soups (including the Tuscan peasant soup acquacotta); pizzas and flatbreads; fresh pasta dishes; and, of course, entrées -- or secondi, if you prefer (Italian fish stew, roasted chicken, veal scaloppini).

Bocci Bar is open from 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 4-10 p.m. Saturday. Call 314-932-1040 for more info.
