But Eau Bistro isn't the only restaurant at the Chase to get an upgrade.
In the last month, Eau Cafe quietly changed its name to the Chase Club. And right around the same time, the hotel's lobby bar, Chasers, also changed its name, to Sidecar.
The new name is the extent of the changes planned for the newly dubbed Sidecar. But more is to come at the Eau Cafe/Chase Club. A spokeswoman for the hotel said that a makeover is also planned for the space, although it will be more of a freshening up than the major overhaul received by its sister restaurant across the hall.
And while the menu, too, will get an upgrade, it won't be as big as the changes at the Preston. Executive Chef de Cuisine Collin Smelser, who currently supervises both the Preston and Chase Club, will spearhead the changes. That, too, is down the road — the Chase Club just rolled out its summer menu, and you can expect to see those dishes for now, the spokeswoman tells us.
What does that leave? The Tenderloin Room, of course. But not to worry; the most traditional restaurant in the grand old hotel is the only one that isn't slated for changes — at least for now. So if craft cocktails and trendy names leave you cold, hey, there's still a bastion of the way things used to be right down the hall.
