Chain Tidbits: Pita Pit, zpizza

- The fast-casual chain Pita Pit entered the St. Louis market last year, opening its first area location at 200 North Ninth Street downtown. Now comes word that the chain will open a second location at 215 Harvard Drive.

According to a help-wanted post on Craiglist, the new Pita Pit has targeted Monday, June 4, for opening.

- Also from Craiglist comes word of a St. Louis franchise for the California-based zpizza. zpizza (the lower-case z is part of the brand) specializes in thin-crust, "fire-baked" pies:

The Craigslist posting on zpizza doesn't mention a potential location for zpizza, only that the local franchisees are a married couple, "28 year old entrepreneurs with one thriving business." More as we learn it.

Update: (Thursday, May 3, 10:50 a.m.) A colleague who has eaten at a zpizza in San Francisco tells me, "It's just pizza, but it's good pizza." So there you go.
