Did your family cook when you were a child? What meals stand out? Both of my parents cooked. We ate a lot of meals together as a family. Christmas dinner was always a favorite.

How old were you when you started cooking? My mom got me cooking at a young age. Can't remember when exactly, but I have fond memories of looking at cookbooks, picking out recipes and then attempting to replicate them.

What was your first kitchen job? I was an early-morning baker for a coffee shop about ten years ago, if that counts.

Did you attend culinary school? No. (He has a master's degree in theology.)

One person, dead or alive, you'd love to cook for? Both of my grandmothers. Each in their own way were fantastic cooks.

What's on your pizza? Meat.

What's in your omelet? Bacon, mushrooms.

What are you drinking? Schlafly Dry-Hopped APA is a fave.

The most surprising food you've eaten? Deep-fried morels my grandmother made for me as child.
