Gut Check has showered so much bad news on the Loft District and downtown lately (see: the apparent deaths of Red and Dolce') that I'm glad to bring news of something new.
Opening at 1013 Washington Avenue will be Mizu Sushi Bar. I first reported on Mizu in this post almost exactly one year ago, when it was one of several new restaurants announced by the Downtown St. Louis Partnership. (Among the others were Simply Fondue and F15teen.)
Construction is ongoing at Mizu. I'd peg it for an early to mid-summer opening, though in the restaurant biz you can never be sure. More as I learn it.
